Committees

Our volunteer committee members spend time and effort to support our Mission and Vision by providing these services that enhance the business community and quality of life in Harford County.  Chamber committees generally meet on the same day of the month at the same time and if not noted otherwise, in the Chamber Board Room.  If you have a particular interest in serving on a committee, plan to attend one or two meetings of the committee to see if the work being done is what you envisioned.  If the work fits your interest and the schedule works for you, then by all means stay on and help your fellow chamber members with the work at hand.  You will find it rewarding and beneficial.  Listed below are the Harford County Chamber of Commerce Standing Committees for 2011 – 2012.

Awards Committee
Plans the annual Harford Awards and other recognition events.

Business Development Committee
Plans activities that offer Chamber members business leads and promotional opportunities including the annual Trade Show, Mall Expos and Seminars.

Education Liaison Committee
Plans activities to support the Chamber Education Foundation, awards scholarships and build relationships between schools and business.

Scholarship Sub-Committee

Legislative Committee
Educates Chamber members on legislative issues, conveys information to elected officials on pending legislation that affects the business community.

Manufacturing and Distribution Council
Offers opportunity for Chamber members with industry specific needs a forum for discussion.

Membership Development Committee
Plans monthly New Member Orientation and Morning "Mix and Mingle" events. Acts as ambassadors to new members as they become active in the Chamber.

Military Affairs Committee
Plans annual Military Appreciation Luncheon. Works with APG to build relationships between the installation and the business community.

Ways & Means Committee
Plans activities that raise funds to support the Chamber including the Annual Dinner, Business After Hours events and the Chamber Directory.
